E-Body Steering Wheel Works In B-Body

As much as I like the woodgrain steering wheel I just can't justify the cost of sending it out to repair the cracks & have the grain refinished right now. I also need the adaptor ring for a 1970 column so it's starting to add up even more. The after market woodgrain wheels would be okay, but they are also pricey & I still need the ring. I just assumed I'd go with a less expensive wheel or wrap the cracked wheel with leather & be done until I happened to run across a photo of an E-Body wheel in a B-Body.  :scratchchin:

Years ago I found a really nice 2 spoke steering wheel in a Challenger at the junkyard so I snagged it with a the can mount for $25. I dragged it to a few swap meets in the past to sell it but they are fairly common & not too highly sought after. I hung onto it & it's been in a box for 25+ years until recently when I decided to see what it looks like in my Road Runner. One thing I can't recall is where I got the Tuff Wheel adaptor from. I don't remember buying it & I never had a Tuff Wheel.  :lol:

Anyway, it all went in easily & I like the way it looks.  :cheers:

Here's the cracked one which is not really too bad. The quote I got to restore it was over $500 so I have to wait.  :rotz:

Two things come to my mind:
1- not a big fan of the E body steering wheel but it is at least a correct period SW LOL
2=Is still a Mopar SW

It's not my favorite steering wheel either, but it's in great condition & it was in stock.  :lol:

I was getting ready to make a classified ad for it but spotted the photo of another '70 Road Runner with this wheel & decided to install it to see how it looked & fit. If I ever get a reproduction wood grain wheel, or have mine redone, I'd put that in. For the $600+ price to do that I doubt that's going to happen.

I guess being an original E body steering wheel the sale price (along with the adaptor, althought is not an E body one) could get the finances for the restoration?  :shruggy:
