??? Anybody got pics of their power steering pump/brackets on a 383 with power steering AND A/C ?? I'm trying to get my 71 back to factory and can't find any decent pics or diagrams of that side of the engine. I'm good to go on crank & fan pulleys and that wacky idler setup. Is the later 400 setup the same as the 383???  Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a link to a thread that has pics of the pump. My 71 383 Mag is the same as the larger picture.http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,9890.0.html

Nice pump picture, THANKS! That should solve my "which pump??" question.

Now, Anybody got one showing how the compressor and p/s pump bolt to the water pump housing??

I will try to get you a picture on Sunday. I need to pull my Charger out of the garage to get a good picture.

Russ,

Any luck getting those pics? I'm all ready to bead-blast and paint brackets.....just want to make sure I have the right ones.

Thanks!!!

Here are a couple in case anyone still needs them. The front A/C compressor bracket mounts on top of (in front of ?) and utilizes the same upper hole as the power steering pump. The front heater hose nipple (5/8) needs to come out in order to mount the upper front alternator bracket. The lower alt. brkt. mounts to the motor mount at the back and the lowest water pump hole at the front, then the wacky spacer, then the idler pulley. Not sure what these guys were smoking when they designed this setup!

The spacer is behind the hose, sorry. Will take some pics on my car soon.

Wow!!!!  :o I have never seen a crank pulley rust out like that one has! Good reference pic though!

This is a 68 440 with AC, the only thing I know that would not be the same would be
69 and newer cars mostly came with a Saginaw pump, this is a Chrysler Federal Mogal pump.

The picture above shows the Saginaw pump.

The real crime wasn't the rusted motor/pullies, but that it came out of a complete, matching #'s R/T-S.E. Sublime Challenger that was VERY restorable ten years ago, but of course the owner wouldn't sell because he was "gonna fix it up next summer". Options included AM/8-track, Leather, Hood pins, etc, etc........... It broke in half when my friend pulled it onto his trailer.

I'm noticing several 71s have water pump housing outlet on driver side  and that makes a different belt set up, with the belt iddler to fan, since steering pump sits higher. I thought the change was made already on 71 and last time to that setup was on 70.
