Still no plans of anyone repopping 70 front fenders ?
Previously owned Daytona XX29L9B423239 - f8 - white int. - power windows.

Kern Dog

You can get them in carbon fiber from SpeedKore but holeeee crap, the prices were over $3000 each a couple of years ago.

Kern Dog

It really would be great if they were reproduced in steel. There are some that come up for sale at astronomical prices and I'd love the sellers of original ones to get that "bitch slap feeling" when their $2500 price gets undercut by a $900 aftermarket one.

Mike DC

Some of the used '70 fenders on the market are so rusty/raggedy that it might be easier to splice their front sections onto a decent set of 68/69 fenders.

Kern Dog

I thought the same thing. I was chatting with a guy at FBBO about the feasibility of doing just that.

70 sublime

I know a guy that was building a daytona clone and I was picking up some odds and ends from and he gave me a cut up fender

I asked what happened and it was a 70 fender he cut the front 8 " off to weld onto a perfect 69 AMD fender to make his own rust free 70 fender

Kern Dog

That may be the only option since the lower production of the 1970 models makes it unlikely that AMD or anyone else would step up to reproduce these.

Mike DC

We oughtta start asking AMD to reproduce just the front end of a 1970 fender.  Like, to use it as a patch section on the earlier fenders.

Heck...Imagine the market for both '70 owners and dudes making Daytona clones!

b5blue

That boat has sailed for many reasons.

Yep, could add up to dozens of potential buyers.

Not that this is very relivent to the thread, but I bought a clapped out set of 70 charger fenders for $200 locally and sold them for $800 on ebay, thought I did good. Now I am seeing people ask really rediculous prices for them.

I wouldn't be so quick to feel that you missed out on a higher price. I see ads on several sites for expensive parts that remain for sale forever. Same with swap meets when a vendor drags the same rusty crap back on an annual basis. Heck, I'm even guilty of that to an extent with my crusty Coronet convertible for sale....LOL

5 yrs ago roughly

Kern Dog

Sometime maybe 18 years ago I bought THIS fender at Spring Fling in Van NUys CA for less than $50.
It isn't rusty but is bent and dented at every angle.

purple70rt

If they did some of you same guys would be complaining about something on the new fenders.

You mean like you just did in this thread topic?
What an idiot....You posted a complaint about the chance of others complaining.

b5blue

HE is correct and you are picking corn outta poop. Hey get it, Korn dog picking corn!  :nana:

Kern Dog

There are complainers everywhere. It shouldn't stop people from living their lives and pursuing a profit.
Screw the complainers....they'd bitch about just about anything.

I bought an entire 70 Charger with both fenders, tons of extra parts and with a 440 and 727 for less than people want for 1 fender.

I had to fix that for you, man.
You certainly didn't buy that car in the last 10 years.

6pkrtse

Actually, it was about 10, maybe 12 years ago now for the second 70 Charger. I actually bought my other current red R/T S.E. back in 1985 for what most want for a pair of fenders these days.

There is a dude at FBBO asking $5000 for a set of '70 fenders. He has advertised them a few times and it appears that despite them NOT selling, he raised the price.
There is no way that he is asking market value. If so, I'm shocked and disappointed by that. IF his pricing actually is legit and they sell, AMD would see this as a chance to make reproductions.
I do not count on either being likely.

$4-5K is the asking price for a nice pair of 70 fenders, it sucks, but that's the reality, I just recently sold a pair of very nice 70 fenders from my stash of several used/NOS 70 fenders to a customer "discounted" to $3800 pr, only because he's a good customer, and was seeing nothing but overpriced crap out there.....
