Unlikely. All the changes and still no automatic image resizer.  :brickwall:

Aaaaaaaannnnnnnnd I have a good idea why people whine about it too as I recently switched to an iPhone and that POS has the capability of doing every photo editing trick imaginable except resizing.  ::) I'll play with whatever settings I can but I may need to add an extra "plugin" to help with the uploads.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

hemi-hampton

It's not only resizing which is minor to me but then you can only post the pictures once or have to rename. I've had it say rename or already used on a pic i never posted or gave new name to? :brickwall:

That part is fixed. No more unique name filter and when there's an error in a post it saves it all so you can edit.

Great to hear Troy. That part was kind of frustrating for sure. :2thumbs:

Clicking on the picture. makes it viewable.

This is likely old news to a lot of people but its relevent:

I'm also an iphone user.  I email the pictures to myself on my iphone.  It gives you the option for size when you go send. "medium" is what I've found works for this site.  Open your email from yourself and save the now resized pics.
For my PC i usually drag pics into MS paint and resize.

Thanks Troy, good work. When you adding pics on a post using an iPhone, it gives you re-size options for the image as soon as you select the image. No need to re-size first.

It does now or it did before? Because that seemed like a huge problem that most people couldn't overcome. Look in the help section to see all the threads.

On the old forum it could be done quite easily, but I tried it now, and there is no option to change the size after selecting the image on iPhone.

I have no idea what you're doing. Make sure you open the attachment pane. You can use a file selector or even drag and drop the picture (from your hard drive not a web site or Facebook). Hit upload. That's it.

The server is in Eastern time but I did notice that something must have reset the time offset (look in your profile). It seems like everyone is a few hours off. Mine seemed to think it was UTC.

Troy, is there a plugin that will randomize an image name upon upload?  Or at least add a randomized suffix to images?

You upload:

Charger.jpg

and it randomizes to:

Charger_234qvREFVEar3432fas.jpg

No? Well, I'm not sure why we'd need it. The duplicate name problem has gone away.

Having said that... the file name behind the scenes is a unique "hash" so it never duplicates. THIS is what caused me the problem all those years ago when people kept uploading the same picture hundreds of times because they wanted it to show up on every post and couldn't grasp the concept of an avatar. That's how the setting got turned on to block duplicate file names (then SMF changed their coding and removed the ability to change that setting back).

Yeah, The Quick reply does not have a Attachement Option. And the insert image option at top wants a URL Address :scratchchin:  :shruggy:

Yeah, The Quick reply does not have a Attachement Option. And the insert image option at top wants a URL Address :scratchchin:  :shruggy:
I know it's subtle but "insert" is not the same as "attach". The buttons at the top are to "insert" something into the text of your reply. Hence, a link (URL) is required. "Attach" uploads a file to the server and displays it after the text in the post.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Well I've got Attachments and other options.. "add files"... "upload"... "insert".
