The 400 Magnum badges are fairly easy to find... there are some on e-bay right now.  Your local Chrysler dealer might even have some (or at least be able to order them for you).

While that may be true I would not wait to buy them, I suspect they ones out there are NOS. If I'm correct the 72-73 charger was the ONLY car that took those badges. Unlike "340 Magnum" or "440 magnum that was used on Chargers/Challenger's/Superbees ect. the "400 Magnum" was very limited, no way would someone tool up to make brand new emblems for such a low number of applications with even smaller number still around to use them. I bought my set NOS at the NATS 2 years ago for $130
Oh here's my "wife's '72 Rallye...400 auto bench seat and $450 exhaust tips

you can get reproduction 400mag emblems from Chrysler. There is one pair of assembly line NOS floating around on ebay. I have several sets and should never need reproductions.
WANTED: NOS or excellent condition 72-74 4 speed shifter boot for bench or centre armrest car, part number 3467755. It's a rubber boot that looks like it's sewn up leather.

WANTED: My original 440 blocks. Serial # 2A188182 and 3A100002

Those are the best doors and tailights Chrysler produced, bar none. Yes, better than 68/69 Charger tailights and 71 RT doors....Awesome car!

GOT YA Still waiting to find out how many coupes had the same drive train ( 400-4, auto, 3.55:1 S/G combo.).  In what way do you find Galens numbers to be out of whack ???

O.K.  Jim, I just got the sheets.  The number of Coupes equipped with the 400-4, auto, 3.55:1 S/G combo was... 0!  None.  So there you have it.

Regarding Galen's numbers...The numbers Galen uses are Chrysler numbers. Some say they are a little out of whack because they do not always add up.  This is because Chrysler used percentages to track production and those percentages were rounded to the nearest tenth of a percent.  For example, on a 1972 Charger Coupe with a 440 - there were 39 produced (0.7% of 5612 V8 coupes)  The break-down is as follows:

440-4v 3.23:1 Auto          11 (0.2%)
440-4v 3.23:1 Auto S/G      6 (0.1%)
440-4v 3.54:1 4spd S/G      6 (0.1%)
440-4v 3.55:1 Auto S/G    11 (0.2%)

Neither the percentages or the numbers add up perfectly because of the rounding up/down used to calculate production totals.

I hope that helped!

Thanks Bob so the final number is 83 Im still confused what would be the percentage# of 1,777 should be a high number if 1,777 is  the number being used

Jim Curnane

I THINK I GOT IT 4.7 %  1,777 X 4.7% = 83.519
