You'll need a hazmat suit to work on that heap. With that asking price, by the time you're done, you'll be financially sunk.

On an interesting note: back when I lived in Maine, I bought an unusually optioned 1968 Charger. It was a 318 with factory heavy duty suspension, brakes and tick tock tach. It supposedly had a similar history. A serviceman ordered it, brought it to Germany for a few years,  brought it back home and retired somewhere in Oxford county. I bought it from owner #2 that bought it in the early 80's for cheap transportation. The original owner was dead by this time, so I couldn't confirm the tale. I figured there was embellishment, but here is another similar story closer to the source.

Love the shot in front of the old Child World.

If you got the Car for Free & Restored it yourself or paid some one to Restore it for you you'd never get your money back. How much is a 318 Charger worth with over 200,000K Miles once Restored??? :shruggy: :slap: :scratchchin: :brickwall:

AKcharger

Well, if your gonna rescue a basket case why not that one...at lease it's complete

all true  ! what the other guys said   :yesnod:
shame this hobby has come to how much the restoration would cost Vs the resale value , only way is  if you can do all the work your self & just buy parts but then an XP charger  no offence XP /XH  guys  love them all

Unless you have the skills to do it yourself, restoring a car saves no money over buying one already done. Some people like having a blank canvas where they can build the car the way they want it. These small block cars are perfect for that. The values of projects reflects that. Might not be $25K car, but it still has significant value over "free". This is more car than what typically sells in the sub $10K range.

A good candidate for a quickie restomod and sell for 100k+ (Sarcasm)
It'd be nice if a hobbyist could restore and enjoy the car to there liking and not be driven/motivated by the potential $$.

Not everyone in the hobby is all about getting your money back. I don't care what my Charger is worth vs. what I put into it over the last 25 years.  My car was a factory triple green 318 auto, complete like the car above and was a good starting point for what I have now.

I think the seller will have no trouble getting close if not exactly what they are asking. Some of the people commenting on this car still think it is 1989 when you can get a $200 Charger.  I sold a pile of crap 68 Charger on Ebay almost 15 years ago for almost 3K in much worse condition.
