I love that car, perfect for the street-just needs a hood, wish they still made them like that.

Thanks, it's got a hood. The damn hood just needs a painter and it'd be back on........

P.S. I have all the trim you see missing also, still need a painter though (one that ain't a FLAKE)

BTW, 13.6 @101 440, MP cam, edelbrock intake and carb, street tires, 727. I'm confident I can knock off another .3 sec. at least.

I'm sorry I'm drawing a blank on the exact cam specs. All I can tell you now is its a MP purple cam mechanical flat tappet cam. But the intake and carb are the Edelbrock Performer RPM and a 750 cfm.

Thanks, I think my carb is too small 600 CFM eddy perf.

That's with 5/16 fuel line. I'll be uppgrading to 3/8 next year hopefully and a new fuel pump.

I'll be sure to re-extend the invitation any time we are heading out.  Nothing is planned for the immediate future.  A couple of the guys went out two weekends ago but I had family obligations and had to pass.

What say we bump this subject?  Surely there are others driving their cars as they were built to be driven, with a couple of years worth of technology updates.  I've just mounted some ET Street radials on my car after going to the local 1/8 mile track and, regardless of how I left the line, spun the tires for a good portion of the strip to the days' best of 8.54 at 85 mph.  This was while testing out my first 727 rebuild...it's working OK so far.  Car ran a best of 13.049 at 107 on the quarter at Monster Mopar September 2008, but that was with the #6 intake cam lobe mostly gone, so that should pick up next time I hit the quarter.  This is through stock exhaust manifolds with 3" TTI pipes and Dynomax mufflers, 3900+ pound car, with 3.23 gears.
If anyone has experience with ET Street radial pressures with a similar car, let me know. Thanks Jerry  :2thumbs:

My best time in the charger was a 12.26, dont' remember the trap speed, 4400 Lbs with me in it, back when it had a 383 with a 440 crank (430c.i.) making around 450 hp and 500+ ft lbs of torque at 13.5:1 static CR, on drag radials with ladder bars and no pinion snubber, 727 and 3.55's

Ran 13.783 1/4 mile at 101.5  mph Budd's Creek.  Firts few race days car was bogging at 80mph....changed fuel system....went from 5/16 to 3/8 stainless steel (ss) fuel line, pick up, and tank.  Added new j-bolts and ss straps.  Could not find new or nos fuel vapor seperator.  Still have charcoal cannister for 1/4 vapor line in engine compartment.   Engine temp was 190 during racing.   Best times were when the engine was cooler.  Have been looking for cold air induction....think I have decided on a hood scoop.   Need to get done before Aug when Big blue goes in for final painting.

:scratchchin:  i don't get why you want to go the 904 route?.. i did a 727 conversion on my built 318 and it was a great improvment.  :shruggy:

c00nhunterjoe

mine has been mid 12's but the only thing i have on video for proof is a 13.21 @104. thats with a blown tranny and 225/70/15 street tires.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=te8dfDlOITo&feature=channel_page

The 904 has less parasitic drag than the 727 for when you need that little bit more.  :icon_smile_wink:

Ricky, the Moroso Speed Calculator shows 108mph is good for low 12's. Once you get the chassis working proprly and get the car to 60ft....the ET's will drop.  :2thumbs:
