let them thaw out before you put them on the grill.  This way they will cook more evenly.

before you put them on the grill, make sure your grill is hot, i mean HOT...  Not shooting up flames or anything, but the grill itself (the metal grill) is up to a very hot temperature.

With the grill hot, you put the patties on.  The hot grill will sear the meat so that it will keep its juices inside instead of losing them all over the grill.  With the juices inside, the patty ends up nice, without the juices in side, its a dry burger.

You can use some steak seasoning also, that is a good touch.

I've been cooking those at car shows for a long time (10 years or more). I have a BBQ on wheels that I tow behind my pick up. I've been cooking for large groups of people (up to 2000 people at a time) for almost as long as I've been restoring cars. I cook them still frozen. I have never had a complant yet. The first thing, there is a differance in the meat. Not all frozen patties are equill. I get mine from Smart and Final. I buy the thickest or largest patties they sell. Like was mentioned before get the grill HOT. Put the patties on and sprinkle some Lawrys salt with a little granulated garlic over them. When one side is done flip and do the same to the other side. If you want to add a little zip add some black pepper to them. Before I BBQ hambergers. I mix 3 parts Lawrys 1 part granulated garlic and 1 part cane sugar. The sugar make a glaze on the meat and adds to the flavor quite well. This is a hit with the local car show crowd and I do alot of the local shows. At home I do the same but add .5 parts course ground pepper to the mix. I've had people try to buy the mix from me. But I usually give them some to take home. I allways bring more then I need for that reasion. Works good over hot dogs too. I have another mix for Tri-Tip also. But don't ask me for that. I just got back from a gun club shoot. I made a 150 sandwitches for them. They want me to come back and do a sit down dinner for them next month. Another tip is to lightly toast the buns on the grill. This dosent work for large groups of people too well, but if you doing just a few. It greatlly adds to the taste. Don't go cheap on the buns eather. Get the ones with seeds on the top. Then slice up some purple onions and grill them in a sause pan entill they are almost transparent. Add that after you have melted your favoret cheese on the patty and you will have a masterpiece.  :drool5: That dose it I fireing up my back yard grill. Gotta have red meat!!
