It's that time of year again when we Moparphiles will make the trek to Carlisle, PA for the big Chryslers @Carlisle event. Great weather is forecast for the entire 3 day event (which has actually morphed into 4-day show with early Thursday set-up day!). How many members are going this year?

I was there this morning, set up has already started.

Are you going to be hanging out around the T/A cars again ? Will stop by , have to chat with you .

Working on getting the 73 painted this fall, so I'm headed to Carlisle to hunt parts and such.
Not sure if I'll be sticking around for Saturday but I'll definitely be there hunting parts on Friday.

Show was great. Record amount of cars were there (over 3100). Nice swap meet, though it seemed that foot traffic in it was down. Anyone else with some feedback?

Show was great at an all time record like you said.  Weather couldnt have been better save for a small shower on Saturday.  Swaps were a lot larger than years past with spots creeping up the hill in the Car Corral area.   Not many cars for sale this year.

Didn't bring the Charger but I won 2nd place in the Jeep Grand Cherokee class!  LOL  Must have loved the Doo Doo Brown!

Sorry I missed you this year as it's always nice to catch up. I wondered if you were around.  I spent a lot of time talking with other car owners this year. Much more than in the past. Probably because the boys couldn't join me and my wife had to work thurs/fri and could only come to the field on Sat.

All in all, I met a lot of new folks and while I made several attempts to swing by to see some of the regulars (the folks at the 70 registry tent in particular) I always seemed to pick times when they were out and about. So I missed connecting with many of you.

I heard you were around and understood you (as well as Bill440rt) were to be hanging out with the 70 guys. So many regulars I didn't bump into this year.  :'(

We were talking on Sat. with the people that run the show since they stopped by our swap meet spaces and asked how things were going. We asked about the cars for sale area and why it was getting smaller and they told us that they started to consolidate the car corral area a bit the last several years since not every spot was sold. That led to expanding the swap meet area into those spots since demand was high and there was a waiting list for them. Good business decision, vacant spaces don't make money, lol!

Was a great show even with the heat on Friday and the little rain on Saturday!  Show does not disappoint!  So much to see in 2 days that it is hard to take it all in!
Tomorrow is promised to NOBODY . . . .

Wife and I were there Thursday thru Saturday with our Daytona clone. We got a celebrity pick award from Tim Costello, photographer and writer for MCG. We also got 3rd place in the wing car class, there were only six wing cars this year so we had a 50/50 chance-LOL. I did write CLONE in big letters on the display card so everyone knew it was a clone and we weren't trying to hide anything. I did hear from a mopar buddy that one of the other "Real" wing car owners was very upset that I had got a trophy (apparently he didn't) and is going to talk to the general manager Ed about banning clones from all classes and put them into their own class. I told him to get the name and address of this trophy whore and I will mail him my third place plaque.

I hear that shit all the time.

Original Hemi owners get pissed an original purple car with a crate Hemi is in their class.
Modified B body owners get pissed they have to compete with a rig that has a Hemi.
Then my favorite is, "hes in a chair so theyre gonna vote for him (pity votes)" lol.
I may be old but my hearing and long distance sight still rocks!  lol

I like the shows I can park my chair 200-300' away from the car.  They just get confused looking at me and inside the car and don't see hand controls, lol.

tan top
