After 19 years, I finally have my HEMI Daytona 'vert back on the road. I used my last new belt I bought years ago for my AM-8 track. Anybody know of a source to purchase new ones?  WINGNUT426

You can make a belt by cutting a slice from an appropriate size bike tire tube.. or wheel barrow tire tube.

Try Kates 8 track shack. They rebuilt mine and installed a new belt. Very nice folks.

Dreamcatcher: Thank you for that! My belt went south a while back now too. Died on a Sex Pistols tape two summers ago (God Save the Queen!). Went to their site, looks like a $70 bench fee (which includes a cleaning & a new belt). That sounds like one hell of a deal to me.

I see that they have re-released the song for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. "No future for you..." seems prescient now, eh?

Your so welcome! I had talked to Kate several times. They took VERY good care of me. I would not hesitate to send them one again.

I contacted Kate today and she  got right back to me. My unit was restored by Radios and wheel covers a few years back. They are no longer in business. Kate is working up a price for 2 belts. Thanks Dreamcatcher for the tip! WINGNUT426

Success!  Kate has no problem with selling me belts. A lot of places won't sell you a belt unless you have the unit overhauled. WINGNUT426

In Venezuela when I was in need of a belt for my Phono I just went to a electronic shop ( Radio Shack kind ) and they have/had a stock of drawers with those belts in diff sizes ( large and wide ). Sometimes with the compatibility models on the package in fact, sometimes not, but taking your old one to the shop would find the replacement.

Same for other kind of belts...

is that not posible anymore ?

No. Years ago TV repair shops fixed televisions, VCRs etc. The shops don't exist anymore. WINGNUT

There are fewer around on a local level as almost all of the electronic service shops are gone. However, these things are plentiful online. Most people just don't know exactly what they need, so they don't know what to look for. Right now replacements belts are the easiest to find in years as vintage home stereo equipment is increasing in demand and value, and they all need new belts.

If I only knew where they were, smh.
I bought 3 or 4 many years back.  They come in a clear plastic wrapper.

I always figured it was a part that would end up non existent so bought a few.
