X25 could be as simple as the factory headlight aim set-up slight SHIFT to the left for an original destination to a LH drive country
what's the earliest known country & during what year?

is the high-beam indicator on the dash always on?  the all 4 lights on sounds like a switch or wiring problem
It appears that both sets of lights are high/low beam type lamps and they all do both.
Perhaps this is the difference between the export model as I don't see how the lights could momentarily dip to the left as suggested earlier.
The high beam indicator is only lit when high beam is selected.

both Peru & Argentina drive on the RIGHT  :scratchchin:

Hi Doctor4766,             14 June 2022

That's a fine looking 70 Charger. Based on the underside, the car appears to have lived its life in a very dry climate. Good luck with the restoration.

Having lived in and driven in countries that drive on the left and right, still to this day there are times when I turn a corner, with no cars in sight, I'll sometimes find myself driving on the left. It doesn't occur as often as it did when fresh back from a left drive country. Both seem normal to me. My last was Singapore and Kuala Lumpur 1997.

I have enjoyed all the places I have lived and worked. Never made it to Australia or New Zealand. Came close a couple times. Came close to emigrating to Australia in 1968; a 68 Hemi Road Runner interfered.

The rest is history. Happy to finally be home with Dena here in Phoenix. It's been a long road.

Best Always

Christine for the 426 Hemi Chicks

Whilst I jump from my LHD to RHD cars without even thinking about it these days, I've never driven on roads made for LHD other than 1 time in Dubai, when one of my nephews who lives and works there wanted to test drive a Challenger.
We went to the dealership and took an SR/T8 for spin.  :2thumbs:

The brakes were feeling a little soft and I could hear vacuum down in the footwell as I depressed the pedal so I decided it would be a good idea to remove the booster and take it in to have it checked out  :brickwall:
Man, what a job it was getting to 2 of the booster retaining nuts under the dash.
I ended up pulling the driver's seat so I could half see what I was doing, lying on my back.
The location of the 2 nuts on the RH side of the column is such that no matter which spanner or socket I used there was always something fowling and it made it hugely awkward to do.
Eventually, like about 90 minutes later I managed to get that last nut off by slipping my hand into a gap that I had no idea if I'd be able to get back out of. (Picture Homer Simpson with hand up vending machine)

Surely there's a easier way?
The FSM says in the booster removal procedure, point 4 - From under the instrument panel remove 4 brake unit attaching nuts and washers  :smilielol:

I left the booster at the brake specialists and should hear back today whether it's serviceable.

Not really looking forward to the refit....

About the only option your missing is Power Sunroof. Can't believe it's not a 2 tag car. LEON.

No radio option ticked on the build sheet though.
Perhaps that's why there's no antenna hole on the fender

Alaskan_TA

No radio was standard, all radio options were extra cost.

So with no radio, you got the blank plate on the dash.

A rubber plug would have gone in the passenger side panel vs. the plug for an antenna cable.

No center dash speaker either, so a black cardboard type material in it's spot to block off the speaker grille in the top of the dash frame.

No radio = no antenna, thus no hole in the fender for one.

So my question now is whether there is an easier way to bolt the booster back in.
Do people drop the column for access the studs?

I usually remove the gauge cluster and work through where the gauge cluster was. I use a long swivel extension and maybe a universal joint to reach the nuts. It makes it a lot easier, though its a little work to remove the gauge cluster.

Under dash work is not my favorite, but I was able to remove & reinstall mine with the column, cluster & everything else under the dash in place.

I needed help to replace my booster in AllBlueRT.  Then again I was recently paralyzed back then, lol.
Pretty sure we dropped my column.  It was a PITA tho!

Hate asking for help, lol.

doctor4766

Thanks gents.
I much prefer the idea of not having to remove the cluster or steering column,
Perhaps I'll give it a shot crawling under the dash first.

Whats the latest?
I sold my 69 and it actually just went on Saturday :(
I bought that car as a project in 2006 so I was sorry to see it go.
Had the buyer not been able to get the deal done with his bank I may have in fact kept it and sold the 70 instead.
Not that there was any real reason to not want the 70, just the attachment I suppose.

Anyway, I had the booster and master cylinder rebuilt by a local specialist and set to refitting them.
Despite not dropping the column and it feeling like my hands had grown since the removal, I managed to get it all bolted back up in place and with the help of my wife, we bled the brakes.
They are feeling much better now and stop the car better than the brakes ever did on the 69 but I have yet to pull the drums and calipers to do a proper check on their condition.
My initial plan is to get the car running and driving properly with everything working as it should, especially the cooling system and aircon.
We get some pretty hot days here (3-4 days of 42/43*c in a row this summer) so finally having a Charger A/C will be a real treat.

I hear ya on the heat.  I've moved back to my home town area and I guess I forgot about the heat.  Altho all the old timers are saying somethings wrong.
Forecast is over 100 for like 12 days in a row.  Only cause thats all the further out the forecast goes, smh.

Move back home Mike, be close to your still non existent family they said, lol.

The previous owner had this car for 40 years and put it in for painting in South Africa, prior to emigrating here, to Perth in Western Australia.
They shipped it after he had already moved here. He told me that he had never been happy with the job that had been done and that the Candy red wasn't as Candy as he was expecting, but by this time it was too late and he couldn't send the car back.
The leaded area where the roof meets the quarter panel was beginning to bubble out due to some reaction and looked quite unsightly.
My first thought was to have the areas repaired on both sides of the car and have the paint "touched up" but the body shop said that they wouldn't be able to match the paint and I should look to repainting to whole car.
This wasn't an option for me at this stage as I have sold the '69 and didn't want to have the car off the road for however long that might take to do properly. So I made a decision to have the roof repaired and to fit a vinyl top.
I know this car didn't come with one but it's not like they never did and that it can't be removed should I ever do a full restoration, right?

Previous owner said not Candy enough? maybe it never was Candy, maybe just a metallic Red? :scratchchin: :shruggy: It's hard to match any Candy if you don't know what base was used under it & how many coats applied but it can be done or come close, I've done it many times. I'd rather have a mismatched paint spot then the vinyl top added but just my opinion. :Twocents: :scratchchin: :shruggy: :slap: LEON.

P.S. If it is Candy maybe they used the newer Candy. Which would be red used over a red base, which don't give you the more intense Candy look of the old days when it was sprayed over silver or gold :shruggy:

The car was in Rhodesia!!!! THAT IS COOL

Anyway you have photos of it's time in Africa??

Yes, you make some good points there.
The areas that needed work would have been very unsightly to just leave, so until I'm ready for a full resto I'll drive it as it now stands.
I have some pics that I'm in the process of getting ready to post so stand by...
