We've been in a situation with our 2003 Stratus since the new baby arrived. Was very hard to get in and out of a 2 door car. We've been looking for a new car that would be affordable and do the job. Our dealership got a 2007 Dodge Caliber in yesterday and we bought it today. We are the first folks to have one in town.

Its the Neon replacement and I must say this little unit is impressive with its small size and roomy interior. Has good power and handling. Side and front air bags. ABS and a new constant velocity autotransmission. That is an interesting experience. You cannot feel any shift points as you go. 7 yr 70000 mile warranty. It was real windy in Kansas today (30+mph) and on the test drive it handled the wind great on the highway. Was real quite inside as well.
26mpg in town and 30mpg on the highway. Interior is nice but also made of stuff that can be wiped down when theres a mess. It has a cooler up front for bottled water or cans of PBR. Ipod holder with aux. port to plug it into the sound system.

We got a smokin deal. We paid off our old car and got 1200$ extra and I have a deal where I get 1% below invoice and we got a 500$ incentive on top of it. Grabbed this little unit for 14200$. It was great when they started playing the car salesman game and I laid out my paper work for the below invoice deal.

I know its no Charger or Magnum or 300. I am sure someone will have a smart ass comment  but what Dodge did here is build a well rounded economy vehicle to fit family needs. Which is exactly what we were looking for.

Good luck with it!

Yeah first time I see one, but that doens't look half bad for a neon replacement. I like it better than the neon. But that CVT scares me, hope it holds out. Never been much of a fan of them things. The old volvo's and daf's had them, though this one is probably a lot more sophisitcated (sp?). Good buy especially for $14k

A ton better than the Neon, more room, bigger vehicle and more options.
Congrats on the new ride!

One of my friends works at the DC tech center and is currently working on the SRT Caliber motor. 300 hp and 300 ft lbs of torque is the rumor!!

Its transportation and the price was right, why would anyone slam you?

I only make fun of people that think their new vehicle is the cats ass..like a Daytona truck owner.

Congratulations on the new ride! It looks pretty nice to me.

Sounds like one hell of a deal. My daughter has a 99' Noen with over 120K miles on it and she loves it. It was cheep and it gets good MPG. Not to mention the A/C blows ice cold. Thats more than I can say for my other daughters 02' Olds. with 22K miles on it. &%#$@$^%$#.....  There I go again.. Better go take more medication!! :flame:

Good luck with the new car. Let us know in a month or so how you like it. You know, after the NEW wears off.... ;)

That's alot of power for a car that size.

Hey Creeder#1 welcome to the site, I am going to be flamed for this but that is actually a nice looking car, btw I think you'll soon be scared off the site by the fanatic anti 2006 Charger crew we have here. Can't say that it really resembles the Charger we know and love but for a modern car it does look good and I hear it performs well as well. Congrats on the purchase.
