...small break at work -- slight variations on the last one.. sharper angles, lower belt, more outward body -- grill right off a 70 so there's no mistaking the front for a Camaro :)

[will post a new version tomorrow...]

Look, Ma, 4 DOORS.

plum500, that's one of the best you have done. At least the front is starting to look like a Charger. :2thumbs: Nice job. The rear should have that small upward "fin" like finish as the 68 - 70's had - you have some talent!

I kinda like the idea of that 4-door, just in case DCX throw's the "2-doors don't sell" thing at him when he sends the design in.
when racing deals fall apart.....you go home, like me.

Hehe... thanks for the comments... ya, I just did the 4 door one to make a point :)

Looks fantastic, but it wouldn't work for NASCAR.

So those to Chrysler now!!! Also, try making one with a 69 grille ;D
Mopar or No Car!

Headrope

I in no way mean to put down the effort of an individual member, but I'm sick of all the "should have" threads and posts on this site. Only a real car will get real results.

DCX did what it did for a reason - it makes good business sense. And it said from the beginning that it was not trying to make a retro car. The "look at Mustang" arguments don't hold water because even the original Charger (first gen; which I see no hints of in the drawing) was not designed to compete with Mustang.

If someone really wants to affect change they will need to build an actual car on the LX platform. Take the drawing, buy a wrecked Charger and build the body panels you want. Then post pictures.

A "real" (as many seem to put it) new Charger should be the Dodgecharger.com car. It will have to have an entirely different front clip from what is pictured. Aeriodynamic and fuel standards necessitate that.
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
But before the General Lee there was me - Headrope.

i think it's a good job and wish DCX would have the innovation to try to get a decent face on our favorite nameplate. Most all the complaints center on the nose of the sedan (besides the extra doors and their extra weight) and it's tired crosshair grill and the exposed headlites.
The Charger should be a Streamliner and the blunt look and exposed headlights aint cuttin it.
NICE PLUM500 ! BRAVO ! It actually looks like a Charger.

Hideing the headlights from casual view wouldnt be hard with the plastics avail. today. ok i'm done..  :icon_smile_wink:

that needs to be built! Maybe Dodge could consider that design when they restyle the Charger in a few years....say 2010 or so? The Challenger is due out in late '07 or '08 I think, and the recessed front grille doesn't really make that much of a difference, the Mustang has a recessed grille and it gets decent gas mileage.... plus it's what powers the car that has to deal the most with mpg and the like. Yes the exterior design deals with aerodynamics, but who wants a bullet shaped Charger here? I'll take plum500's 2dr concept in B5 Blue or White, maybe black with a side of GET SOME   please....... LOL (inside joke LOL  :icon_smile_big:

You already have.  The drawing's a 70 Charger with some small changes.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Plum.......email that one to Tom LaSorda....maybe he will have the balls to make them test market it and possibly build it!......I have his email address if you wanna send it.

Cool... thanks for all the comments...

I would like to point out that the work done on the lower chin, the detail in the spoiler, the rims -- and that the 2 door car that provided the base for the sketch was done by one of our new members, Burningman (Doug Schramm). The direction he was working on with his front end was right in line with sketching and a train of thought I had been working on, so I used his sketch as a host/base to communicate my thoughts on the whole situation :)

burningman

Thanks for the props mate!  :2thumbs:

I think your 4 door could keep alot of people in both camps happy..very much the same way the CNG Concept was. Great work!
