Always funny to me how many of these old cars had bumper hitches on them. Of all the cars I have restored 90% had some sort of hitch. Can you imagine trying to do that to one of todays cars? Hey Stu the trunk lid is still on my bird and I still own and drive it. I thank you and others every time I get in it.

MY dad pulled a full size UHaul for his job using his new 72 Charger back in the day!

That first pic does have a 'Welcome to Pendelton' sign, so NE Oregon.

In the second pic it must be Washington (Puget Sound or Alaskan Highway?) or maybe BC Ferries.  I don't recognize the ferry or terminal.  But it's not in Oregon, they don't have ferries this size.

928007, are these photos from your family?  Would love to hear the story behind them.

Alaskan_TA

That is not a ferry terminal in Alaska.

Twin red stacks on the ship with that logo, it -may- be the Princess Marguerite which did operate in the Seattle area.

She has a sister ship though too, so it -may- be the Princess Patricia?

Has to be one or the other.

Canadian Pacific rail ways had some ships at one time also

Two different trailers as well. One U-Haul and one flat bed but looks to be the same car.

I have a hitch on a 74 Charger that I have. I'm thinking of putting the hitch back on it when it's all done. I think they're kind of cool.

I think you're right on the ship Alaskan_TA.

The Alaskan highway system ends at the ferry terminal in Bellingham, WA.  That's what I was thinking it could have been.

bull

Pretty cool how they got put to work back in the day. The cool factor has always been there but they had to be much more versatile as basic transportation.

The AMHS terminal in Bellingham entered service on October 4, 1989, this slide is older than that.

The CN line did not share any loading facilities with the AMHS.

92807, is there a 'developed' month & year on the slide borders? Some are pressed in and some are stamped.

My red Charger shows evidence (holes) that it once had a trailer hitch installed at one point in its life.
