The 3rd Fast and Furious movie premiers June 16th.  Since it is about drifting, you may want to be a little more careful when driving your cars around this time, because you KNOW that all the little high school kids in their "modded" Hondas and such will be trying to drift and race in the streets.

One of the downsides of baiting the easily lead.

However, this may be possible with the lemmings.

whos going to go to premiere

I will.

Or more precisely, I will go to the theatre when the movie is scheduled to be over with, with my camera, and my car safely parked a few blocks away, and get some videos of the kids trying to drift in the parking lots, and crashing into the light poles/other cars.

Don't worry about wrecks after the movie, though.  Drifting a car on asphalt takes some actual torque so I don't see any threat.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Did anybody read the article on the movie cars in the newest "Hot Rod?"
They built a couple of really badass '71 Monte Carlos.   500-inch stick-shifted cars in rough primer & stock car wheels.

And the movie's storyline involved putting a turbo'd Nissan 6-banger motor into a '67 Mustang!

JimShine

I worry about kids trying to replicate that shit on the roads. Especially when they want to show up a General Lee.

The key word is trying.  I forsee alot of inexperianced kids TRYING to drift, and ending up losing control of their cars.

i think that could make for a pretty kool car, yeah its a ford but the old mustangs were cool, and without the crap ford engine holding it back i would dig it. those nissan 6bangers had balls, even without a turbo.  anyone ever drive a Z car? i did once an liked it alot. it was hard not to bark em in 2nd

the night that the second movie came out my friends sister's car died 1 block from the theater. we (my friend and i) were in his 69 ranchero going to the store, and saw his sister sitting on the side of the read. so we stoped and we were just sitting there on his tailgate waiting for the tow truck with his sister when the movie got out. we were parked near the only stop light in town. it was funny, we watched as 87 chevy novas, and geo metros smoked the crap out of their tires. I suspect that there will be alot of BS like this that fallows that movie.

I took the Charger to the openign night of DOH. I was expecting a similar responce, expecaly with me in my charger and my friend in his mustang, but nope everyone left the theater quietly... its funny the diffrance in the audience.

Did you see they had to put several different motors in the Pherd to get the HP up so it could perform?  Funny.  :icon_smile_wink:
