A few pics...
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

odcics2

a few more.

Thanks, guys for the comments!

Bill Hancock, ex Chrysler race engineer, saw the car and looked for details.
He was pleased at the level of the restoration.
Bill worked for Larry Rathgeb and did Kit Car work.

In one pic, he's behind the wing in a red Ferrari cap.

Yeah, weird...  :shruggy:
All taken with my phone.
If you want, PM me your cell and I'll text them to you.

I was asked about the brake-clutch pedals not being standard B body, like Doug's Superbird parked next to the 88.
In December 1969, Dan Gurney and Bobby Isaac tested the 88 at Riverside, prior to the January 1970 Riverside 500 race.
Dan INSISTED on the "different" pedals for better heel-toe action.
The Chrysler guys changed them out.  (pain in the ass on a built car)

Afterwards, they just left them in.   They are from a Dodge truck.

Who did you tell Bill Hancock did all the extensive detail restoration to this car?
When I die I want to go like my Grandfather did, quietly in his sleep.  Not screaming like the passengers in his car.

I said that Steve Atwell's shop had it in 2007 - 2009.
Scott Sheeran had it from January 2012 until mid November 2018.
Ray Evernham's shop had it from November 2018.
Bill is aware of the entire history of the car and who did what.
I told him that you saved the original front end, too. 👍Awesome work!

Geee Greg, did you use any of those rare NOS Dzus fasteners that I supplied...

Nice one Greg!

The coolest car on the planet...

I just did the pedals on my 64 D200 truck and thought they looked familiar lol.

Yes, used the Dzus fasteners!
I can't remember how many vintage parts that I bought over the years!
Many guys from here helped with odd ball stuff, like vintage fuse holders.
Yeah John, old truck pedals!
I was told that Dan Gurney was very particular in having a perfect driving position.
Too much of a pita to change back.

How was the quarter panels flared for the rear tires?

odcics2

The flair is hand made.
It pulls both out and down compared to the
original 1/4.
I used vintage photos and we dialed it in by
visually looking at it from the same angle as the photos we used.
We used pics of both sides.
Most things on this car are not symmetrical.
Fender openings are different side to side.
Wing supports too!

Um, you may want to recheck your dates.  I had a HELL of a lot more time on your car than that.  I started working on it when I bought my superbird from Steve,  while it was at his shop.  Aside from a few months after I left Steves and you pulled the car until Ray picked it up it was in my posession. Mighty nice of you to give him part ownership to finish the car BTW. (Maybe more on that later) I'll have to look at my emails but I would bet I had already made my first trip to Cottons before 2012 when I bought your NOS radiator and established a relationship with Cotton and opened the door for you to visit and buy more parts.
