I am in the market for new headers. What are you guys using? '73-400ci.

For fit... TTI.  Not cheap though.

The very best would be homemade, but only if you have a nice shop and the skill and time to do them right.

Wow they are pricey. Who else is worth a look? Also I didn't see any for the "400ci" block specifcally. Will the 383 or 440 fit on a 400?

Please understand they are but that they fit and are often specifically made to fit by research.  I have seen some companies headders sit on a starter, needing to be dinged to fit spark plugs...etc.

I will have customs on mine so, I really do not know who else to tell you to try.

TTI is the way to go.Hooker comp headers work well too and fit decent, and are half the cost of the TTI's

I have the Hookers on my 73 with a 400. but I would have done more research before buying them agian. they are really close to the ground. but they are ok. make sure and buy the fiberglass insulators for the spark plug wires.

Racing? Street car? Little of both? It makes a difference...

The Hookers hang low on a B engine because they are the same part number as an RB engine. That's also ONE of the reaosns why some folks say they fit well, and other's don't. Other manufacturers have separate part numbers.

I run the Dynomax Ceramic Coated headers on my 383 and love them. They fit well and are the right primary size of 1 7/8. They only cost me $245 from Summit. I have no issues at all with them. I started using the original starter but went with the Mini starter from a 1995 Dodge Dakota Truck V6. The starter only cost me around $100. Even a better fit now. I would buy another set if something happened to these.
If it ain't wide open; it ain't running.        Rule number one in motocross racing: Pin it; row the gear box; and wait until you hit something.     At work my motto is: If you need me, call someone else.

I think hedmann makes a shortie style for small and big blocks, also schumacher (the motor mount company) sells a header that's supposed to fit better.

I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.
