Thanks Guys.

I just checked out Cope's website and found this:

Apparently, they no longer offer complete transmissions. :eek2:

TCI makes a great 727 tranny

Keep in mind that many of the builders like TCI, B&M, etc. offer products from all makes while A&A and 727 Specialist deal only with Mopar...worth considering.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I do!

How many do you want lol???

Now here in lies the problem with 727's...

All pre 1970 transmissions have the wobbly front-drum syndrome.
Most are OK but a few are going bad after 50+ years of service...

So either convert the early ones, with a 71-up stator support shaft and drum etc., or.
Just get a 71 Hipo trans to start with!
Obviously not a hemi one but a sixpack if you is very lucky...

A hemi trans would have had the 'hemi drum' but its been proven that a '5 plate' stock wide bearing, steel drum is up to snuff!

They can only be fitted to 71 and up hipo trans or modified earlier ones lol.

Clear as MUD!

ps, when you say second generation, you mean 426ci hemi derivative?

pps, the only thing a hemi trans needs is a steel drum and a bolt in sprag (clutch roller assembly)
(and 4 pinion planets and hemi input shaft etc) lol... :2thumbs:

IT TOLLS FOR THEE...

The most important part of a 727!

A 'bolt in sprag'... :2thumbs:

If you don't have one then you is playing 'Russian Roulette'...

I have a transmission built by Rick Allison of A&A Transmissions.  It is a great piece that has held up very well.  I have also purchased many parts from A&A. He manufactures many parts for the torqueflite transmissions.  He is a great resource for us all.  I have also purchased parts through Pat Blais's ebay store, "torqueflite patty".  He is also very knowledgeable and I am sure could build you a great unit.  Just depends where you are and what area could be more convenient.  Indiana or Washington.
