Dome light location?

So I have searched for a while but cannot find a clear answer on the location of the dome light.  In the roof structure there are 4 holes.  2 in the front and 2 in the rear.  Which set of holes are used for the dome light? and does anyone know why there are 2 sets of holes?  also does the bulb face towards the front or rear of the car?  It's been 30 years since I took it out and didn't note it back then

If I remember correctly and it's been 19 years also. So not so fresh in my mind too. But I pretty sure the bulb faces towards the rear of the car. If you think about it, when you would need to replace a bulb if it was facing forward it would be awkward to get your fingers on the bulb right? But if the bulb is facing rearward it is a more natural grab from the drivers seat?? Make sense? And as far as what set of holes to use I believe the front set of holes is the ones you need to use.  The reason I say that is because in my pictures I have, those holes are shiny. Therefore I'm thinking those are the mounting holes. If I'm wrong don't curse me too bad. But it looks obvious to me those would be them. Plus that cross member would give support to the dome light instead of just just hanging out from that support.
