Console lid

The thread cutting speed nuts that hold console lid on hinge just wont tighten up enough to hold lid to hinge firmly. I guessing the speed nuts and or the posts on the lid itself are somewhat stripped. Anyone run into this issue? If yes what was your solution? Maybe just get one size smaller speed nut ? I cut new threads with a 10-32 die.

Do it very slowly and back the die out a few threads often.
