It's sad in a way. A good buddy of mine lived just up the road from there. Driving past the plant was always a source of joy - the "almost there" mark, if you will.
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
But before the General Lee there was me - Headrope.

I used to feel the same way heading home from NYC to New Jersey going to the Lincoln Tunnel. When you saw all the hookers on the corner you knew it was just a couple of more blocks til the tunnel. Once the mayor cleaned up the neighborhood & chased them out, there was nothing to reference.   ???

the citizens voted to closed the plant in sacramento, but they voted agian to keep the towers.

Amazing, when the tower was built, Campbell Crane had their biggest lattice boom crane inside of it.  They built the boom inside 330' on the ground and was still able to boom it down when finished.  That's big! :o
