Restoring/building a 69 Hemi Daytona. Exhaust manifold doesn't have the fitting for the heat tube for the choke. Remedy? Surely I'm not the only one with this problem. Help!

Looks like you are missing heat tubes at back of intake as well as the choke heater tube. I see the following options, easiest first
1. Manual choke cable, but it wont look original
2. Complete changeover to correct passenger exhaust manifold and exhaust h pipe
3. https://moparconnectionmagazine.com/shut-your-big-fat-flapper-installing-a-hemi-heat-control-valve-assembly/

The exhaust manifold is next to impossible to find unless you are willing to go reproduction. I was lucky on mine to have an original, and the repros look good, although date code wont be right.
Good luck, beautiful color!

If you are doing it for appearance and correctness, then ignore what I am about to add...

My Hemi is stock appearing but with a cam, hidden ignition and a few other tweaks.

Same problem when restoring my car years ago, simply switched the choke to an electric unit, its hidden under the big chrome air cleaner anyway and works great.    All it took was replacing the cover plate to go from having the hot air unit to the electric driven spring piece similar to what Edelbrock sells .   There are many electric choke covers on the market, make sure if you went this route to have one that has the spring rotate the correct direction when hot.

Granted, living in Carolina we have very little concern with running cold.  I found my Hemi runs better without the two heat exchange pipes to the manifold as well.   I just used the covers that are sold to seal them up, same to what you have in your picture.

Hi Qdabopy,              07 July 2021

Fantastic looking work you are doing. To us it appears you are a stickler for detail; make her look as perfect as possible.

We get the impression this is a 4-Spd Hemi DC.

Along with many others here, we sure would like to see more of your Hemi Daytona.

I have the electric choke set-up that Scott Smith put on my rear carb on the 426 HEMI in my Daytona. Works perfect. I just have it discreetly connected to the 12v feed in the engine compartment. I can show you my set-up if interested.

Hi  Qdabopy,                10 July 2021

69_500 is talking about the bumpers close to the front of the fenders on both sides that are held in place by a protrusion that fits into a slot in each fender. The round adjustable ones are correct. We checked photos of our Daytona, which is now Bob Jennings Daytona and it is as 69_500 correctly mentioned.

Sure hope you'll put more photos of your Hemi DC on the site.

Hi Qdabopy,                   23 July 2021

That is one beautiful Daytona. From the photos it looks like a major project and fantastic workmanship. Hope some day to see her in real life once she has been completed.
