Just wondering if anyone has some tips on how to put on TTOs without toasting the blasted finish when you put the nuts on/take em' off. I put one side on to have a look, and found I already put some (though very tiny and fixable because as soon as I noticed what was happening I was as careful as possible) small marks...

...any advice? Help greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
fred.

I'm guessing you're referring to the limited clearance around the lug nut hex, correct?

There are lug wrenches available with thin walled sockets.

Another option is "tuner-style" splined lug nuts which need less clearance.

Yup. That's exactly what I was talking about! Thanks very much for the tips. I had thought about simply takin an old socket to the grinder -- but wasn't sure I wasn't missing something else.

Thanks again 471.
