I tried putting the bumper on with the brackets attached to the car. What a fiasco reaching the chrome bolts. This seems like a better way to do it. Any opinions/suggestions for a better bumper install?

Also I broke a tail light housing attachment tab on trial install. I had no idea it broke until I had it off the car again. I did an ugly fix with fiberglass and found this push pin style plastic piece to better simulate the original plastic connectors. However I have no idea where I got it. I used bolts to attach the other tabs. Perhaps that is the wrong way to go since they have no flex.

both brackets use a stud to install into the tail panel and nuts on the trunk area... then you will complete the installation with the bolts on the rest of provisions. The studs will allow to hold the bumper assembly in place with just one hand while you install the nut with the other hand. BTDT

Ok so it is proper to intsal the chrome bumper to the brackets and then onto the car. Oddly enough one of my brackets is missing that stud but has threads on all the holes.

Yes, the bumper installs as full assembly on car.

Yes, all holes gets same threads. You could either use 8 bolts or 6 bolts and 2 studs, but the correct will be with 2 studs, intended for the easier installation
