Hi im from Germany and i have buy a Dodge charger from 1973 -1974. So now i want to buy couple of engine parts but i cant identify the Engine. Can someone help me to identify my engine? I also have a picture of the engine code. Sry for my bad englisch ^^
And i know that is not the Original Motor from the Dodge charger 73-74. I think the American community has more Experience of the Material.

Here is the Picture::

Im no expert, but what I think (see what others say because they will know more)
7T means 1977,
440 is displacement
The thing that looks like an F may be an E and would mean cast crankshaft
HP is high performance
2 25 might be the date of the casting and the 2 might mean the second casting (or probably engine built that day) (I am not sure on this)
The maltese cross means it has undersized journals.

I looked this up in a book I have and saw similar things about the pad stampings on the web.  The problem is that I am not fully versed in these so they could be wrong.

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....
