440 stroker with 440source kit

Planned usage is cruise-street brawler with attitude on sound and shit load of low RPM torg.

No high stall, high comp, short gears Mambo Jambo.

Really easy street and highway manners.
But it will destroy tires with flick of the blades...

Car is -71 Charger with 727 trans,2000(now) or 2500stall and 3.23(now) or 3.55 gears

Some say it was waste of 535 to build it like this but he who pays the bills, his rules :D

-10.3 compression

-Hyd roller CompCams Mutha Thumpr 235/249@.050"
Lift .557/.540 with 1.6 roller rockers
LSA 107
Not the best cam but owner loved sound it made, and to some,it's most important thing  :icon_smile_big:

-Heads Edelbrock E-street ported by me, from 210cc to 240cc
Stock 2.14" valve

-Very Little chamber work also

-Intake Edelbrock 2x4bbl dual plane and dual #1405 carbs.
They are 600cfm

-MSD RTR Distr

-Hooker 1.75" headers,the small ones...

It was worth mention that rod-piston combo was 380gram lighter than orginal.Thats a lot!

It had really nice " old skuul rumble" idled 750-800rpm really easy

2500rpm 296hp/626torq

3000rpm 361hp/635torq

3500rpm 437hp/660torq

4000rpm 503hp/664torq

4500rpm 541hp/636torq

5000rpm 563hp/595torq

5500rpm 564hp/540torq

Peak values were:

570hp@52-5300rpm

666torq@38-3900rpm

Most important spec on street engine:Averages

2500-5400rpm
473hp
633torq

Intake did cut some power,i made CSA on heads so it would support 5700-5900rpm on 535cid.

it peaked 5200-5300rpm.

It's not MOST powerfull, but fun to drive still.

And would say that most likely runs low 11/high 10's with 3.23 gears...even on crappy track.

and imagine cruising 55mph@2000rpm and just push pedal to the floor with that torq...:)

Torque RULES on the street.... Nice Job !  :2thumbs:

And BTW, imo that's pretty damn good HP for a Cam that small !
Only wimps wear Bowties !

And we can both agree that heads did come pretty good .

It's a struggle to get good power from Eddys with 2.14" valve.
I have made the 255cc but it was punching thru really easy on that size.

Runner is small size on 535cid and 240cc,but low rpm was the goal.

With better intake like Victor and 850-950 carb,i would say that 590-610hp can be made :scratchchin:

I think you did very well... very nice engine !  :2thumbs:
Torque is KING on the street and that thing will be a MONSTER !

But I dunno about getting power out of the Eddy's ?
It can be done.... a Flow Bench is a fantastic Tool to make things easier sometimes and we consider ourselves very lucky to have one here.

We've been able to exceed 650 hp using Ported Eddy's on a 493 / Torker 2 Intake.... again... "Flowing" as we went to "SEE" where we were ?
and,
we've exceeded 550 hp with Ported STEALTH Heads on just a XE284H Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cammed 446(.030 over 440), Dual Plane Performer rpm Intake... but again... the Flow Bench told us where to go ?

Specially Average Torq.Or that is what i think when planning and making Street Race or Strip Engine.

Peak values are what sell's to public but average moves those darn things :D

I made 255cc Heads from RPM and they went to 70 Charger,3.73 gears and 3k converter.
254/260@.050" cam,lift ,580"

Ran 11.02 and FootBrake 60ft 1,552sec

So i think it was making more than 620hp @ crank?

Speed was something like 124-126mph, dont remember.

I did Stealts to another 440 week ago,i have liked their low lift numbers, better than Eddys, and little work, port size roughly 220-225cc from stock 210cc and numbers went:

          stock         ported
.100     69              84
.200     142            167
.300     210            226
.400     255            274
.500     266            287
.600     279            294

.200-.500 average
           218            238
came out VERY nicely.I was very happy
These will go to 440 with xe284 cam,RPM intake and 10.0:1 Comp.Should make some nice low rpm numbers and about 500hp easy on crank. That C-body might want to move...
Might NOT do as good numbers you did(IMPRESSIVE hp from Stealts):D

Still Flowbench is a tool, some people swear by it,but you cant race it.
It will show Pros and Cons if you knoe what to look.Just by flowing will not tell truth,i like to listen to port, how does sound go when adding lift and i use little "rope" to examine how and where air behaves in port.

Many times have seen that steady flow on gauges but air does some serious shit inside port.

Good examble was my own heads, they are in the "middle stage" of desing and had serious floor issues on lifted floor on short turn.
Eddy eSTR

At .300" numbers were .212cfm on 215cc port and 2.14"valve.
Sound was little noisy but gauges showed NO swirling on port but that piece of light string was all over the place on floor and on midlle..it had liquid manos so it should have been "nervous" if there were any swirl. But it was almost dead calm..

But at .400 lift, sound came down, floor setled, air was suddenly moving VERY nice to short side and numbers jumped to 271cfm!!Thats 59cfm on .100" lift increase.
.500 was 295cfm and .600 was 310cfm...

It shoud be good head for my  383 LongRod engine ;)
