Console Door Hinge

Hey guys... I'm working on re-doing a few interior things, and wanted to be sure the guy I bought my car from didn't have the console door hinge on wrong (upside down)... There are oval holes that allow adjustment forward and back (adjusting door toward the nose or tail)... should those oval holes be attached to the door, or to the console?

My hinge is a little crooked, but I wonder if mine is backwards...
