Yes, you should prime the pump and the engine with fresh clean oil. If done correctly, timing should be close to spot on. It does take a bit of effort and time to do it correctly. Your best bet is to find someone that knows how to do it and will help you do it so you will learn all the steps involved.

I'm sure a beautiful young lady like you should have no trouble finding someone willing to show and help with this project. If'n you're in the Phoenix area we'll be more than happy to help.

Please take care and don't do it yourself until you learn the procedure. It's not overly complex, just multiple steps that should be done in the correct order. Good oil, new high quality oil filter, the special tool to turn the pump, and a good power drill to turn the tool.

You'll also need chalk to mark the Harmonic Balancer, a 1/2 inch drive ratchet and appropriate socket that fits the large bolt in the nose of the crankshaft. This is only the start, Please get help from someone that has already done this numerous times.
