Pipe Dope.... as they are Pipe Threads... or maybe Thread Tape in a pinch ?

but we use the Pipe Dope on all our assemblies.
Only wimps wear Bowties !

Anything "NPT" (and some things that aren't) I use Permatex's PST592 liquid teflon on. Haven't had a leak in over 25 years..
