Sad news to report regarding Charlie Glotzbach - read this yesterday:

https://www.autoweek.com/racing/nascar/a36218249/nascar-superspeedway-pioneer-charlie-glotzbach-dies-at-83/

Charlie was great to talk with at the wing car events he attended - very approachable, and plenty of good stories.

Very sad news, Chargin' Charlie was a great guy.  thanks for the update.

Here he is along with some other greats at my car at Wellborn's house during the '04 reunion, captured by Ken Noffsinger:

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

One day Charlie was at our shop and he gave me the best answer I ever heard about the Daytona.

My question: "What was it like doing 200 mph+" on the big Nascar tracks?

One word answer (fits Charlie) "Boring"

He said there was so much downforce you could almost take your hands off the wheel and let the car drive itself, and if you got in trouble it would self-correct.

RIP Charlie-one of the toughest guys I ever met.

I agree with the others that Charlie was a GREAT guy!
He was friendly and full of knowledge at our AERO WARRIOR REUNIONS!
I have attached a picture of Charlie and myself at the 2004 reunion out at the Talladega museum.
He had just signed my event poster for me.
RIP Chargin Charlie!
