I think this is funny!

What does make these "HEMI" specific?

Would be interesting check if catalog states a diff alt between a 440 Magnum and an Hemi!

The guy is selling also... Hemi starters, direct drive. I have my doubts about this kind of stuff being really HEMI specific, but I can’t talk about these starters. I’m not familiar with these... maybe Direct Connection part from back on the day?

The alternator on mine is a 37 amp unit which is used on other mopars but with a double pulley. The direct drive starter was 67-69 Hemi 4 speed only.

Double pulley Hemi, single pulley 440 w/o PS w/o A/C. Factory A/C was not available with the Hemi and don't think it was available on the early Six-Packs with the aluminum Edelbrock Intake. 440 Six-Pack had wiring harness brackets different from the Hemi and the PN's are different. This paragraph was edited Sunday 04 April 2021 to clarify the comment. 426 HCs

The Alt with the bar code must have gone through a rebuilder, bar codes didn't exist prior to 1973.

The direct drive starters were also used on 413 truck engines. I happen to currently have one on my Hemi 4 spd car. Far more economical replacement than 800-900 dollars. The solenoids are also available because they are the same as the 413 truck engines.
You know you are vintage when someone says, "Back in the day", and you can dispute their facts.

and... double pulley, well, A/C cars got them too... sooooo

Nice, but these are/were single pulley and don't have the PN tag, just casting numbers which doesn't proove anything.
