Lets just hope that 220084 is STILL out there?

It could miraculously 'come back from the grave'...

Just need $90,000 (gone up to $128,000) and a spare 69 shell... :slap: :smilielol: :eek2:

How did the engine change from Red to Orange???

Showed the engine number and NOT the trans?

Cleanest skid plate ever, NOS k-member?

Loving the grille!

Maybe with some reworking it would go into a 69-Charger...

Now who would do such a crazy thing... :slap:

ps, NOT a correct 68 block, its for a 69 car... :shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy: oh dear... :brickwall: even Limeys know that Galen...

The 500 was built in Mid November and the motor has a casting date of June, I seen this before but is this a typical time span from engine cast date to car build date? Thanks Jeff

Jeff,
If this 1968 model year car was built in the month of November it would have been November of 1967.
The the block was cast in June 1968 which was 7 months after the car was built!

John A had told me about this engine about 15 years ago now. I have not located the car it goes to just yet.

Three to six months was the time given to seasoning of the bare castings.
Hemi's blocks got longer seasoning and were less in use, like the 440's were.

My December 19th C-500 '248662', 440 block was cast in October 68, so pretty quick turnaround for R/T's.

Had a 1973 Plymouth 340 Runner with a 1970 casting block...
Must have got 'pushed to the back of the queue, more than once lol... :slap:

In all fairness if it was the last Coronet to be built in September 1968, it could just about work for a June casting?
But we all know this is a November built engine, number 9 in vin, is a big giveaway... :scratchchin:

I take 'my hat off' for NOT erasing the numbers and some day the real CAR may still turn up!

Just hope its F8 green with a white interior dana-4-speed... :2thumbs:

When I worked at the Trenton Engine Plant in 1976, every now and then old stuff would turn up!
I also saw 2bbl. cams go into hipo engines, and vice-versa.
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?
