Tank Vent - fuel spilling

Hi all,

When filling up the Charger, fuel pours out of that over flow or tank vent seen on the right. Now I assume it's not normal to leave a puddle of fuel behind at the station.

I have no idea what the stock setup should look like. I've done some research but can't quite figure it out. I have one fuel line going to the Holley 770, no return line. I have a patent and functioning vent tube at the filler neck. Can I safely block the vent tube coming out of the sender unit and allow all venting to happen through the filler tube vent? Would that be enough?

Thanks all for your advice

tan top

the fuel tank vent line for 68 - 69 &   none ECS 70 second generation chargers is located on near the top of the gas tank filler tube , see pictures below
the  sender unit  like the one you have fitted , are for cars with a vapour separator  & a  1/4" return line back to the tank .

with the proper vent tube & no return line , that smaller 1/4"  tube needs blocking

Thank you kindly for your reply.

And yes my tank filler tube (vent) looks exactly like yours and is patent. I'll block the tube from the sender unit
