Looking at HydroBoost

Hey guys, I know there are some previous messages on Hydroboost, but I also know that it's been a while and several new technologies/packages out there.

I'm looking to possibly update wheels/tires, brake lines, and add hydroboost.

Hydratech has the cleanest application, but with hoses, MC, and such, it runs > $1000. I know several guys on here have done some setups with Dodge Ram Hydroboosts, as well as Mustang or such.

I'm pretty good with assembly/installation, so not afraid to fabricate something, but I want something that looks clean under the hood and doesn't look like I bolted a bunch of junkyard parts together. I was gonna plan to run a new Wilwood MC.

Are there any  good options out there besides Hydratech, or anything I should consider from an OEM setup from a newer car that I can steal?

Me also. My son swears my 110LB daughter can't handle the manual brakes on my 70. (She lives out of state so not here much.)

Hydroboost isnt some weird or crazy system...   the lines/fittings can be about $100-$150 for nice braided high pressure stuff...   the hydroboost unit itself is <$100 (I scored mine for $20) and the master is a basic parts house thing. The only specialty thing is the mounting plate...   I got my from tallon hydraulics for less than it would cost to make at a local shop.

In total I have ~$220 into my set up.

I bought and installed a kit from Hydratech.  Haven't driven the car yet, but all of the parts are nice and the installation instructions are very thorough.  I did not have a lot of knowledge about Hydroboost systems prior to this, but you could put together a nice kit for less than $1000 if you know what you're doing.  The biggest pain will be collecting the hoses and fittings, I'm sure.  Hydratech comes with braided 6AN stuff.

Tallon may be out of business these days - I did not find their old site but the mounting plate itself can be a simple modified factory brake backing plate ---  just welding up the hole and cutting a circle in it with a small locating tab so the booster doesn't spin - I chose the Tallon piece because it looked nicer and was a simple aluminum piece - could probably have it made at a local machinist shop for relatively cheap.

Bummer, it doesn't look like Hydratech sells their adapter by itself.
