Flexplate/torque converter marking...I forgot during engine R2, is it a big deal

I pulled my engine to paint the bay and now I remember; "oh, I was supposed to mark the flexplate and Torque Converter (TQ)"   :brickwall:
So questions are:
1) is this really a big deal? there's no external balance weights on TQ and it's the same engine trans with no modifications...just painted engine and bay
2) I tried the factory method but I can ony find the "V" mark, there is no 1/8 hole in the flex plate any other tricks??
3) if this IS an issue I understand there will be vibration in neutral at high RPMS and remedy is rotate TQ position on flex plate till vibration goes awat right?

The reason to mark it is so you can mate up the converter to the flexplate easier. The bolt pattern is not evenly spaced for the 4 bolts, one is off center even with internally balanced engines. Some people spritz a little paint on one lug before a teardown to identify the match-up later.

So you're saying it only bolts up one way? So If I have it bolted up is good right?

Yeap, one of the holes is offset. There is just one way to bolt it up. Mark the flexplate is just to make it easier instead spining it up untill match. Or begin to attach the bolts and find at the 3rd bolt it doesn't match LOL

I can't recall those marks ( hole and V mark on TC ) on my assembly

Ha ha....Yep, I have made the mistake of getting 2 or 3 of the bolts in (with Locktite) then getting to the offset bolt and having to spin it all around to remove the bolts and start over. I don't know what their reasoning was behind this, I wish that I did.

Well obviously at 3rd bolt if matches, the 4th one will too... so you can make the mistake and be able to bolt up just two of them. At 3rd you will know if made it up right or not.

The reasoning of the offset setup? Be sure about the balance. Crankshaft gets also one offset bolt. Is maybe not important for forged crankshafts, but it is on casted and flywheels/flexplates are the same for both.
