14 inch RWL tires...Best ones and source?

Guys got suggestions?  biggest problem is most RWL I've found are low profile 60's and when coupled with 14 inch wheels it just loks like a "clown car" their so small

Need to note 245/60-14 is ALLMOST the same but wider

Don't follow just the profile since is a relative number! you can't separate the profile value from the width value. The profile number is a % of the width, so wider the section, higher the profile still being a smaller value compared with some others.

So you could get 215/70-14 in front and 245/60-14 for rear ( available both by BF Goodrich ) and all tires will be around same 25.X" diameter, but wider on rear. 245s on rear will be a tight fit thought on stock 5.5-6" width wheels. The smaller could be 7" for a healthy fit and nice look

225/70s are 26.5" height thought... The higher off all being RWL for 14"

Already filtered by rim size and sidewall. There are some others on the old oval ( not metric ) specs

GR70 seems to be 27" diameter, the higher of all, but dunno if the price worths the price against the metric 26.5" size by just half an inch diff

I have 15"s on my Charger but still being 27" diameter, 255/60-15 on 7" Rallye wheels, so I don't think 26.5" of the 225/70-14 will look bad at all. Not even the 215/70 and 245/60 for the 14"s if your rims accomplish for rears. Althought I'm fan of same tires on all 4 corners. I think 255/60-15 is the best looking tire size for B bodies.

Since I have SG, I had to find a tire replacement on same height, but smaller as posible to use less room on trunk ( 255s are too much wide for the trunk IMHO ) and using the stock spare steel rim so got some "trailer" tire with white line sidewall. But can't recall the size. It was not a common size.

Well thats the trick, only ones availble are firestones at almost $1200. not worth it as they'll spend 51 weeks of the year on a shelf

very few Chargers came with Firestones ('69 ONLY) - Chrysler Corp. was almost exclusively GOODYEAR during the musclecar era

yes, reproduction tries are expensive - but If you want the "LOOK" you have to pay the price - same with a Charger

Agree, you get what you pay for...it's just like a "5" on a scale of 1-10 of importance to me.

I actually spoke with the guy who made those goodyear tires, thing about that is they have this super weird (to me anyway) tread pattern nothing like the original...which may be good

the reproduction bias-ply or fiberglass-belted POLYGLAS tire look just like the factory installed 1970-'74 tires F70-14 or G70-14 (there were some General Grabbers used in '73-'74)

his radial Polyglas tire is a reproduction of a short lived mid-'70s Goodyear radial - that shared the tread design with cop car tires that were in production into the '80s
(that few had seen or used. so, yes they appear a little odd)
