1970 Dodge Charger with 1978 440. Car was restored in the early 2000's. The electrical wiring.  Was not the best, drove car home 100 miles did fine the next day car had a hard time starting( would not turn over and no lights. Finally started went to pull into building and everything went dead. I have replaced the ignition switch, starter relay, new battery. it's a manual transmission and the safety switch is grounded to firewall coming off starter relay, key cylinder. One time I jumped it at the starter relay and it cranked and ran plus you could start with keys a couple of times the. Back dead again.   I start no crank no lights anywhere. I have a new voltage regulator coming the old one read 84.5 ohms. Looking for someone to install a new wiring system as the old one seems cobbled together. I am in Gasburg, Virginia looking for someone. Lose as possible. Next step is the ammeter meter. But would like to get the new wiring. Thanks for the help.

Howdy Statman! welciome to the site!

May I STRONGLY suggest you bypass the alt. gage and try it. I chased my tail for about 10 years and all the issues were the gage.
- Disconnect battery
- disconnect both wires from gage and bolt them together and TAPE UP TO AVOID SHORTING you should be able to do this without pulling dash
- If it works, consider doing the voltmeter mod

Cheers!
