Hey fellas, need some advice, getting ready to start the build on my 512 striker. All parts delivered to the builder. Just wondering what headers you guys recommend for best fit. My hookers had a few places where they touched and rubbed so looking for new ones with better fitment. Thanks a lot.

Everything Ive heard is TTI is best fit.

I had ceramic hookers on my 71 440 and I couldn't change two spark plugs unless i jacked motor up. I'll be selling them soon.

I did the search on google "site:didgecharger.com Doug's" and found these threads

I am using Hooker Competition and can vouch that they require dingin and since I have a B instead of an RB, some bending to make them sit tight under the car.

Have heard good things about TTI and also about Doug's, but used neither.  From what I heard, I would probably go with TTI but I would read some before.  Just like you are.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I've heard good things about Doug's.  I went with TTI, and it was worth it

I ran the 2in/3.5in TTi on my wedge and they fit great.  I tried the Hooker Super Comps and they flat out wouldn't fit on either side.  I ding'ed them up in the process and couldn't return them.

Thanks for all the advice. Those links were great. I've decided on the Doug's headers. They're pricey up here in Canada but I found them on Amazon with free delivery so that halos a lot. Shipping is crazy sometimes.

I run the tti step headers on my 440. 2 inch to 2 1/8 to 2 1/4 tubes. I can change all spark plugs in a matter of minutes on a hot engine. Plenty of room.

I bought a set of polished ceramic coated 2" Doug's headers for 1000$ Canadian.

Here's a pic of my 512 stroker with my Doug's headers on it. They're beauty.

I'll send another pic when they get in the car.

I forgot about this thread.  Here's some more pics of those Doug's headers.

Another happyTTI customer.... pay attention to the X versus H, as they're both good, but one gets in the way of further modifications such as the GearVendors overdrive.

That's a cool 68. How much power is your 512 making?

I didn't go with an X or H. It's just straight duals all the way out. All new from the heads back. Flo pro mufflers. Looks and sounds great. Much quieter in the cab compared to the flow masters.

never had it on a dyno, but from the 1/4 times so far even with the fuel delivery problems I have had, Gross FWHP is probably 650ish, Wallace & the Moroso slide rule put it at 590 Net FWHP
