Saddle Interior Dash Frame Color????

Im sure this topic has come up before, but I cant find an answer on this one (mostly because im not that great at researching on the computer). Im trying desperately to restore the dash on my 69 Charger SE with saddle interior. I found some information that the original color of the dash frame was a Ditzler paint (Buckskin Tan), but ive called everywhere, done countless searches on the net, etc, and no one can tell me what paint I can use that will work. The only lead I have is Instrument specialist, but they want over $200 for a pint!!! The way I spray paint, I would need several of these just to paint my frame and steering column. Can anyone definitively give me some modern paint codes, processes, etc to get this frame painted right?

I just ordered the correct type Acrylic Laquer from TCP Global Corporation.  It was $159 qt. You may be able to get it in a pint as well.

Thanks but ive looked there before and I cant find the correct Buckskin tan suede color. Also, the color that TCP Global offers looks WAY different than what the original dash frame is supposed to look like, also, its gloss Lacquer, not Suede..Am I missing a step?

how do I get it to be textured and somewhat flat like the original "Suede" finish?

It is already correct texture based on paint formula. If you look closely at the 69 chart 23076 is textured suede. They will mix it accordingly. Please call them for assistance if you have doubts.

Here is how I did it about 5 years ago:


I had my paint supplier color match an area of the dash that was original paint and not
faded by the sun. If I remember correctly I used the glove compartment door hinge.


The supplier matched it to a PPG NISSAN CAMEL color code:27806

My buddy Rafael did a spray out and it matched perfectly



2042 clear
He sprayed it at 4-3-2-1

4 parts clear
3 parts flattener
2 parts reducer
1 part hardner

I have been using these guys for the specialty paints for close to 20 years now, and have done two 1969's with the mixed to 1969 code Saddle sude texture paint. It dries to the correct texture. Their version of Saddle is a hair browner. The stock paint I find usually has a sort of gold highlight.
