Wheel lip trim molding question

I'm in the process of getting body and paint work done and I'm considering leaving off the wheel lip molding. I've seen a few without it and I think it looks pretty cool. Was this an option or do people just choose not to put it back on when they do their paint?
Thanks

Did you end up doing it?

Thinking of doing the same on mine.

My rear quarters aren't drilled out for them cuz they're now but my front fenders are. I'm thinking I'll have him weld them up but I'm still kinda on the fence.

Its a personal preference.  I happen to like them better with the trim.
