Had this on my watch list just to see how it would finish and got my email saying auction ending soon

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/264825883362?ul_noapp=true

Never heard from the winning bidder of the first auction so this car is available again. 1969 Dodge Charger RT roller. Has rust in quarters and trunk floor, also some rust in front drivers floor and passenger floor. Some rust in drivers front fender. Clean Idaho title. No engine. Please no bidders with zero feedback rating.

It may be because he doesn't answer questions.  I asked about his 68 RT and there was never any response.  The auctions are also suspicious because the bidding identities are private.  That is what people who shill bid their auctions generally do.

Hey Homerr... where did you come up with THAT VIN ?
But Yeah,
that would be my suspicion as well ?
That No matter how nice.... it's still a column shift 318 2 BBL Car  on the XP29F8B302204 VIN

just say'in....
So the closer to $40K it gets.... maybe in many people's eyes the closer it is to being topped out price wise  ?

That.... and IMO
I think post COVID there has been a definite shift for many in asset acquisitions ?

"Numbers/rarity/relative resale valuations" are playing a role with those acquiring.... especially the ones strictly acquiring as an alternative to holding cash as a 'store of wealth' because the CASH is about to be devalued substantially.... THAT is a given....
so any asset acquisition from that CASH is trying to retain as much 'relative' value later as possible = numbers/rarity/collectability maybe ?

This is the car he is talking about:

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/1969-Dodge-Charger-/264825883362?_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l10137&nordt=true&rt=nc&orig_cvip=true

The listing ended so Ebay redirects to a similar listing.  That 318 car is not the original link.

Yeah that's better.... at least it's a real R/T ?

Seems like a worthy candidate to me at $15K USD ?    Column Shifts aren't all that popular, but given it'll need a complete restoration and doesn't have the original drivetrain ? not a big deal to convert to console at that point, imo

I'm pretty sure ebay does that, they "mask" the usernames of the bidders from other other bidders (basically only the seller and I suppose ebay themselves can see who is bidding on an auction).  Been that way for years now.

Ebay will mask/hide bidders Identity but seller can also opt for Private bidders which means not masked or hidden, will just say Private. To answer Original Question "Why is nobody bidding on this Rust Bucket Charger" probably because it's to rusty of a body for the Price. My Guess. :shruggy: :Twocents:
