Hey all,  I posted this on the Aero side but maybe better here for an answer since other cars shared the same set up.

I'm wanting to install a correct looking fuel pump, separator and fuel lines back on my Superbird 440-4.  I'm a little confused as to the correct thread size on the fuel pump supply and the fuel line that threads into pump (other end clamped with hose to separator).

Is it 3/8" or 1/2" thread ?

I found what I believe to be a somewhat correct looking fuel pump for $38.  Description: carter fuel pump for a 1970 440-4, 440-6 hp Cuda, Charger, GTX Roadrunner, Duster, with 3/8" fuel fitting.  And I found the fuel lines with the somewhat same description, but the male threaded end that would screw to the pump is 1/2"

Does anyone know what the correct factory thread size should be ?  I now have both parts in hand and obviously one is wrong.  I want to return one or the other for the correct thread size.

Thanks for any help

Ok, thru more research I think I'm going to answer my own question   ;)  seems to have been a 3/8" thread on the pump supply connection.   :icon_smile_big:

I always thought the bigger motors had the bigger fuel line right from the gas tank sender unit

I think the answer is: none of the above.

My guess is it will require an inverted tubing flare nut, which has a unique size, like 1/2" x 20.  Or it will be an NPT thread and likely 1/4 NPT.

The threaded delivery fitting is an inverted flare, the flare nut for a 5/16" line is 1/2" thread.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks for the clarification.   I see this was used to connect the small fuel line from the separator to the fuel pump   :2thumbs:
