i have some 60's edelbrock aluminum valve covers in really good condition that i want to put back on the engine after ive rebuilt it, im just looking for the best way to clean them. its pretty much just oil and hard water deposits. i know aluminum is eaten away my most strong cleaners, what could i soak them in or spray on them to get them looking new again? thank alot-scott

Brake cleaner does a fair job. Bead blasting is best if you know someone....
