Is it ok to connect Brake Booster Vacuum to the carb?

In regards to connecting the brake booster vacuum line for 4 wheel power drum brake.   Does the intake manifold provide more vacuum than the carb vacuum?

If the carb has a 3/8" vacuum port intended for power brakes, the manifold vacuum and the carb vacuum will be the same.

Some would argue that a manifold port tapped into a runner would be less ideal than the carb port leading directly to the plenum.
