OK, so on my 73' Rally Charger I have old school Cragar wheels. 15"

Getting ready for some new tires. Question is I have 255-60-15 front  275-60-15 rear. As pictured in my avatar.

Question is where can I find 255/60/15 black walls instead if raised whites and is this an overall good size all around? All I can find is BF Goodrich TA's raised white and think I would just like black wall better.

I like the look of the rear just maybe easier and look better 255-60-15 on all 4?

Any input and pics of what you run would be awesome.

Also, what did the factory call for on 15" wheels?

Check Amazon I got a real good deal on Cooper. Scrub off the blue goo and spray paint RWL satin black, mount painted side inward.  :2thumbs:

255/60/15 is a good fit all around for 71-74 B body, and you can then fully rotate your tires. Cooper's also come with white letters, so you are faced with the same dilema as with BFG. As said, if you don't like white letters (I also prefer black wall tires) just mount them with letters facing inward.

Thank you guys, yeah all I have been finding is the Radial TA's & The Coopers.

Wow, I am old...back in 98' you could still find black walls & raised whites on the shelves. Also the choice of budget raised whites or the more expensive TA's, LOL.

I found the Coopers local mounted & balanced for around $500 all 4. Suppose that is not to bad.

Also thinking that the 275/60/15's on the back are a little Joe Dirt and it is a stock 400 with highway gears in the rear.

I have 255/60-15 all around on 7" wheels and I wouldn't look to any other option. Can be rotated and don't need to get worried now I have SG with the spare wire able to be fit on any corner. Searched for a matching diameter tire for spare but smaller width to be into the trunk. Can't recall the size, but came out being a white line one supposelly for trailers :shruggy:

But I'm fan of white letters. Running on the not available anymore Indy 500 tires.

I went with Cooper Cobra on the front 255/60/15, raised whites and they look awesome !

Can't decide on to do 255/60/15 on the back also. I know you guys say it will still look mean &  is the most logical.
Just something about those 275/60/15 on the rear !  :pity: :-\

Sounds like I will be happier with 255 /60/15 on all 4 though.... :scratchchin:

Price was not bad $250 mounted & balanced...no discount for all 4. The 275's are only $20 more....

The 275 vs 255 on the back just depends on what you like.  It is an advantage to be able to swap and rotate.  Why not post a picture of the car on the tire size thread http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,63191.475.html

I just swapped my fronts to 245/60 coopers and need to post a picture there as well.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

So, at about 40 MPH I was getting a vibration on the left driver side. The entire front end is new & fresh alignment. Obviously the front left wheel needed re-balanced.

I take it back to the local tire shop & they did not charge me and did a re-balance. I really was like WTF when I got home and saw all the weighs.

Well, I can say my Charger now drives smooth and no vibrations at all. I just was like WTF with all the weights !  :shruggy: :smilielol: :smilielol:
