Holy cow, if that ebay auction 69 actually went for $25k and was a legit sale, then that makes the 69 R/T I found less than a year ago for $4k that Cbrestorations bought look like a steal.  Hey Chris maybe that car wasnt such a bad deal after all, lol.

OMG....$25K for the Flordia rust bucket. That is insane.

OK so it's not just me.
Question I have is, because it was sold, someone thought it WAS worth that much.
I wonder if they plan on restoring it, or if it is to be parted out?
I noticed the 68 seats, but I don't see how parting it out could be profitable at that selling price.

Bad B-rad

OK I just found it has been relisted, and currently is at $3500.
I COULD NOT believe the $25,000 selling price that ebay claimed

2nd-gens are more popular in decent restorable condition than in finished condition.  It's no place to look for sense & reason.

If a zombie virus killed the entire human race, aliens would land on earth and start bidding the 2nd-gen projects back up to stupid numbers.

That $25K Florida auction is as fake as they come. That thing has been through ebay several times in the last year. The dead give away is the number of bids. The car isn't even a $7500 car. And I always keep a finger on the pulse of the market.

While I get many who own classic cars can't even figure out, errr won't a wrench, for those of us who can, with AMD, one could theretically build a nice 2nd gen. charger off say a B-body from another make like Belvedere. all sheet metal. Hell, they're building them off Crown vics right now.

No reason to pay the asking prices because we could build them.

I bet a 2nd gen Charger body(like the new Mustang and Camero/Challenger bodies) is right around the corner.

I am not sure how I feel about that, but I have looked threw the AMD catalog many late nights, dreaming of building a car from all the parts they now make, like the Stephens Daytona, from chop/cut/rebuild.
With that AMD frame table, and the spot welder they have, looks like a very fun/expensive model kit

That is already being done.

The repro industry has never accepted that 68-70 Chargers are more popular than E-bodies.  I don't know why but they just won't get that through their heads.  We won't get a repro 68-70 body shell until they figure it out.

This is true. I'm not sure why they haven't figured it out.

Prices have been crazy for a long time! There is a near perfect 69 R/T on forbbodiesonly for 70K. There is also a 69 R/T on there with no documentation for 49k.

Jee is it just me. Or have charger prices just gone up again?
I cant find anything decent under 60 to 100k.
And now even 60 seems to be buying a car needing work

Wtf.
Been checking ebay . Craiglist and fb.
:shruggy:

60K? I'll take that.

Agreed.  Given the choice, between another Charger and an E body, I'd take the Charger.

Unless it's a spec-to-me E body.  Which would actually be an AAR Cuda with aluminum W2 heads/a good 5 speed/4.30 and modern suspension.  And AC.   In orange.  And the #'s original parts in a crate.

Prices are definitely climbing,
IMO, lots to do with money chasing assets to try and hold relative value...... because with the amount of money being printed out of thin air ?  the current money itself will be worthless or greatly reduced in future purchasing power subject to NO 'premium' for holding over TIME (interest rate)

I mean look at the disconnect on stock valuations Versus earnings/debt levels, etc. ? And NO... it's NOT 'futures" potential as outlooks/PMI's etc., all suck balls !

Think of it this way for a moment.....
what is the point in holding "Money" or "CASH"...... when there is absolutely NO 'premium' for doing so Versus 'TIME" (interest rate)
You got it....
there is NO point holding the CASH because there is NO 'premium' for doing so.... meaning the Fiat Currency as a means of future exchange in valuation has LOST it's viability and is now functionally no more than a "COUPON" for immediate redemption before expiry of current buying power into the future.(reduced)

If you don't understand ?
figure it out !

Because the rich people have already figured it out and are buying 'assets' disproportional to'.... and far beyond it being 'a good time to buy'
Only wimps wear Bowties !

Selling for a friend from his collection. He is a paint and body man who built this car for himself a couple years ago but wants to get down to one car. He restored this true numbers matching 68 R/T himself. Car has new body and paint and not a spec of rust anywhere. It retains the original drive train which is a 440 4 gear with a Dana rear end and runs and sounds amazing. Chrome is new, both bumpers and some trim was replaced. All gauges work as they should and the original interior is in great shape no rips or tears. Would take to long to mention all the new parts that were put on the car. This is a beautiful car worthy of adding to any ones collection. The only thing that was changed was the colour. The odometer shows 64000 which is believed to be correct as the car was sitting for some time before the restoration. Car has fender tag as well as the build sheet. If asking price is met it will come with a complete new front grille and parts to convert to disk brakes as well as some odds and ends. Asking $115,000...NO OFFERS UNDER $100,000

I just had to ask what the original colour was before they painted it black
Reply I got back said it was burnt orange
