Replace the "I" molding piece in center front grill

Is it possible to change the "I" piece on the front center grill without taking the rest of the trim/moldings out. If i need to take all out do i then need to take the entire grill out or is there an easier way?

It's easiest if you pull the whole grille out.  Center I is slid behind the horizontal pieces

 I went from I to E.  Much better fit. 
Yeah you need to pull the entire grill out.
Where did you get a new one from ?

I got it from the guys that sold me the car in Chicago about 12 yrs ago....had it in the bin all that long...
