1968 Charger R/T, 440 eng., 727 Cope transmission with Console, TTI Headers.
If you have a similar set-up.

Has anyone performed the transmission linkage modifications recommended by TTI?
I don't think they apply to the console automatic Transmission shifter.

1) The support bracket that the console shifter shaft goes down through, under the car (cut and weld).

2) Bell Crank Pivot for the kickdown Linkage (cut and weld).

3) Flip over one of the transmission control connecting rods.

Anything else?

I have the linkage in place, per my photos as removed from original transmission.
I didn't do any of the mods and don't see any interference with the Headers .

Any comments, Please.

Automobile mass production is far from a precision affair, tolerances vary all over the place. Aftermarket suppliers make recommendations based on the worst-case scenario; you lucked out and didn't fit into the worst-case.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Hey John,  saw your note and couldn't help but throw in my  :Twocents:.

First if it all clears and you can run the shifter thru the gears with no problem then I wouldn't worry.

I also have the TTI headers but with a column shift.  I deliberately choose 1 7/8" headers for several reasons.  Talking to the TTI man, he mentioned that some folks have trouble fitting 1 3/4 or 2" headers.  I guess they bend them different.  :shruggy:   He said some of the instructions are common for various size headers. He also said there are problems with 71 -74 b body cars and others.  Trouble is, he said the the instructions can leave out some of the problem areas or leave out some of the exceptions, so if you read them and think they apply to you, it may lead you on a wild goose chase.  The only way to really tell is to fit them up and test for interference.

Sounds to me like you are ready to go.

Thank You
I also have the TTI 1-7/8.  At least 1 of the TTI modifications did refer to 1-3/4 and 2" headers but I didn't think that they intentionally left out the 1-7/8 size.  I chose the 1-7/8 size because one of the well respected members on this forum did tests with the 1-7/8 and 2" headers and it appeared that the 1-7/8 had slightly better performance, plus I thought about a smidgen more spark plug room etc.
