So this 69 charger that I bought about 2 weeks ago had a random engine and trans set in it. They are not the originals for sure. If you guys would, please look at the numbers in the pictures and let me know what you guys think it is and if it's worth a damn. I know it's a 727 but that's about it.

After 50 years, the numbers on the case cant reliably be used to tell what parts are inside. It could have been rebuilt a dozen times by now.

2538334 is originally from a '66 B or C-body with a 361/383.

As stated, only disassembly will tell its current condition but '66 was the last year of the small 19-spline input shaft and some other undesirable features.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I would ask..what do yo want to do with it or are you just asking if it can live in your car for a while?  If you just want to drive it then do so.  Probably not any worse off then a lot of other old cars on the road.  727s are pretty robust even when old.  If you wonder if you can add 100HP to you engine and expect it to live, now that's something worth thinking about.  I would bet a lot of folks would do the engine mods and not even think about the trans until it breaks.

So what engine, rear end gears, tires, engine mods?

So I bought the car but the engine and transmission aren't original to the car. Hell, they've never been hooked up in the car. The guy just set, what appears to be a 383 2bbl with the 727 transmission attached, in it. The engine is not locked up. I'm just at the very beginning stages of a build. So far I've just taken the interior out and started disassembling the rusted truck pan and dropped the gas tank. I haven't removed the engine, transmission, or rear end. The rear end appears to be and 8 3/4 but no idea on gears. Haven't gotten that far yet.
