Sold for a fairly good price id say

All I see is that the final bid of $29,000 did not reach the reserve.

:shruggy: :shruggy:

Challenger340

Nice Car, and V/Good money at $29,500 (IMO), for a 3X Green 318 2 BBL 1970 example.

Gotta love the hostess 'twinky' 8-1/4 rear end if an Engine swap is ever contemplated ?
Only wimps wear Bowties !

Kern Dog

The VIN shows it to be an XH but it has a "500" emblem on the left headlight door. The 500 model is an XP for 1970. Maybe the grille was replaced at some time?

VegasCharger

So did this 70 Charger sell for 29.5k or not????

Reserve not met usually means NO sale.

XH29N0G

I'm puzzled by the 500 on the driver side headlight door.  I am assuming this was replaced at some time, or were some XH cars also 500s.
Who in their right mind would say

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

ACUDANUT

I'm no expert, but a 70 charger 500 will still have a XH vin. It's nothing both a chrome package. I owned one at one time and it had the crappy 8 1/4 rear end too.

1970:

XS29 = Charger R/T
XP29 = Charger 500
XH29 = Charger

No.
The 3 designations were
XH
XP
XS
The XPs were all 500 models. It was not a trim package exclusively. It also included bucket seats, center console, a clock to the left of the speedometer, a light group and a 318 as standard equipment.

jefferson

Ahh. Thought it sold for 29k
Never seen those style of seats tho. Bench with headrest
Assume an option??
Only ever seen the standard high back 70 seats whenever I see a 70.
Can't say I like that style of seats in this one lol.

My XH project:

So then what determined whether a 1970 XP got the Charger arrow emblem or 500 emblem on the headlight door and tail panel?

My XP Charger had the Charger arrow on both.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

The XH was never supposed to get a "500" emblem anywhere.

davidcam69

Notice the plastic ties that hold the washer hose to the inner fender are upside down. After I restored my 69 I read somewhere that these

were upside on some cars. I checked my before pics and sure enough they were upside down. I switched mine around and this is the first

and only Mopar I have seen that were upside down beside mine.

And make sure that the air cleaner wingnut is positioned at 9:00 & 3:00. :smilielol:

I wonder also.  My XP car has an arrow on the tail panel trim and a "500" in the grille.

The person on the Assembly Line grabbing the parts? :shruggy:
My XP Oct. 15, 1969 (A15) (Wednesday) build date and first Titled on Nov.18, 1969, has a arrow on the headlight door and on the tail panel and is a SE model. Plus it has a Coronet jacking instruction label on the inside of the trunk.   :slap:

But the XH didn't get the tail trim panel, so there wouldn't be a reason for the Charger arrow to be on it, only the 500 emblem or the R/T?

I'm just curious why some XP Chargers got 500 emblems and some got the arrow emblems.

Here's an old thread from 1970chargerregistry.com talking about it. They didn't come up with an answer, but some are implying it may have to do with production date.

ACUDANUT

IMO I would worry about it. What about 318 chargers with R/T on them. ??

bigdsul

I wouldn't be surprised if it will be back up for sale again.
